Now that Lexie and Evan are celebrating their first wedding anniversary, it’s time that I finally share some photos from their dreamy destination elopement in Santorini, Greece! I first met this beautiful couple in New York City (where we spent a full day taking their engagement photos), but you can read more about that by clicking here. When we met up again in Greece, about a month later, it was for their vow exchange with only their immediate family. They did all of the official legal stuff in NYC before flying out, so Greece was all about exchanging their vows to one another.
We started the day with an early morning casual session, just strolling through Oia together. We loved finding all of the cutest spots for photos (and of course the cutest local cats to pet). In the afternoon, we met at their Airbnb for a few getting ready photos and family portraits. Then, we all drove to the beach for their vow exchange ceremony, where Evan’s brother was the officiant. After the ceremony, we all went to a small local restaurant for some of the best Greek food. Lexie and Evan took a quick little car nap on the way to our final location, where we hiked down approximately 10 million stairs (okay, maybe it’s closer to 500) for a beautiful sunset view near Skaros Rock. Here are a few highlights and favorites from this destination elopement, I hope you love the photos just as much as I do!
Destination Elopement in Santorini

Evan’s brother chose to dress up as the clergyman from Princess Bride, and even began his speech with the iconic movie line: “Mawage.. mawage is what bwings us togeder today!”. It was a great laugh for everyone, and so were the fake sideburns! After the fun intro, he ditched the costume, and the couple shared their emotional vows. Even though they already did the legal stuff in NYC, they both felt that this really made things feel official.

After our day full of photos, we all met up again in Oia for one last dinner together. I shared a few quick sneak peeks with everyone, and Lexie was beyond shocked that we were able to get so many great photos. It had been the most windy day, and her hair was constantly all over the place. But, you would never be able to tell by looking at the photos! The wind just became a part of their story, and they loved that you can see it in the photos. This is exactly why you should just embrace the day as it comes!

Kind Words From Lexie & Evan
“Where do we even start… Jenni is the type of photographer that makes us want to elope 100x over. We initially reached out a few months before our spontaneous elopement after realizing her work made up most of our entire Pinterest mood board. Why not reach out to the photographer that was the main inspiration behind our dream vision? Not even an hour after reaching out, Jenni responded with her availability, and after a quick phone call the next week, we knew it was a fit. She made room in her extremely busy April to help bring our elopement dreams come to life.
When it came to our actual elopement in Santorini, we were not surprised when Jenni went above and beyond. Wow. Not only did she scout out some stunning locations in Santorini, but she helped curate the schedule of our day so that we were shooting in our favorite spots in the best possible lighting. Jenni’s ability to capture people in space is some of the most natural talent I have seen from a photographer in a while.
Some of my best advice is to trust her fully – Wake up extra early with her to capture the sunrise pictures, know that she is going to capture you in an amazing location she already scouted, take all of her travel advice, and believe her when she says she got the shot. – We faced an incredibly windy day in Santorini, but you would never be able to tell from the photos she captured. So many photos that exceeded our wildest dreams (and original Pinterest boards!). Such a natural talent, and we really can’t thank her enough.”
